This is the second part of our installation kit guide mini-series. This first part was dedicated to brick slip tile adhesive and was an excellent read that you should definitely check out! But now we move on from that. So today we are looking at brick slip tile mortar.
Our brick slip tile mortar has been specifically designed to ensure ease of use when being installed using a hand-held mortar gun. The light and pliable texture of Cempoint makes it fast and convenient to work with and the hand-held mortar gun allows intricate areas to be grouted neatly. Whilst this has been designed with gun injection application in mind it can still be applied by trowel in the traditional way. Our brick slip tile mortar is resistant to freeze/thaw weather conditions making it perfect for use in external projects!
One bag of our brick slip and tile pointing mortar covers around 3.5 m². Using a mortar pointing gun will help make sure that everything is neat and quick as possible. You’ll need to add the full contents of the of mortar bag into a clean mixing tub. From here you should slowly add 4/5 litres of clean water into the tub and mix thoroughly. To make it easier you may want to use a mixing paddle. It can take anywhere from between 3-10 minutes to be properly mixed but you should continue mixing until you have achieved the right consistency. If you place the mortar on a trowel, hold it upside and the mortar doesn’t fall off then you have done it right! So now your mortar is prepared, simply load the gun and begin pointing your brick slips!
