Brick Slip Adhesive Advice For You

SlipBond Brick Slip Adhesive

Choosing the right brick slip adhesive can be difficult if you’ve not used brick slip cladding systems before. So we wanted to offer you some guidance to help you avoid coming ‘unstuck’ at this critical stage of the process.

It will probably come as no surprise to you that our recommendation to you would be our Slipbond adhesive. But this blog is meant as informative guide rather than an advert. So we’ll give you the facts and allow you to decide for yourself.

If you came here from our installing brick slips blog and are unsure as to which brick slip adhesive to use, do not worry, we are here to help!

There are two types of brick slip adhesive. There is a choice of either cement based or epoxy based. The surface you are installing your slips to will play a role in helping you decide which one to go with.

If the surface your applying your slips to, is non porous epoxy adhesive is the route for you. This means your surface does not absorb water so because of this cement based adhesive would be ineffective.

Alternatively, if your surface IS porous, we’d recommend a going for the cement based. This is because it is cheaper per square meter as well being more readily available.

You should seek professional advice if you are unsure on which brick slip adhesive is most suitable for you. Most cement based boards, breeze blocks and bricks will be porous. But like with everything there are exceptions to the rule so it is important to exercise due diligence.
