Brickslips: What Are They?

Thin Brickslip Tiles

Brickslips are a particularly niche subject so it is understandable that you are no expert on them. But, give me 3 minutes of your time and you wont be far off! On the flipside, there will be many of you that are pretty clued up on brickslips already. In which case, don’t waste any more time and order your brick slips or free samples today!

How Are Brickslips Made?

We pride ourselves on offering our customers the best product and service possible. This is the precise reason we only offer Brickslips made from genuine clay bricks! Alternatively, we could offer brick slips made from cheaper material such as acrylic. However, acrylic brick slips do not offer the same genuine brick wall feeling you get from clay brick slips. To make our brickslips we cut the two faces off of a real brick which then leaves you with your two slips. No two bricks are the same nor are two of our slips. Furthermore our brick slips are handmade, this helps to keep them from all becoming uniform which takes away from the real brick wall illusion.

Where Can I Use Brickslips?

The thing I love most about brickslips is that they are an incredibly versatile product. This means that you can install them just about anywhere and they will look fantastic! We have seen them use in a plethora of different places, from the living room, to the bedroom, to the kitchen. If installed correctly, brick slips can even be used on the floor. Although the main purpose of brickslips is to imitate a real brick wall, even the floor projects we have seen have been absolutely stunning. Our brickslips are also suitable to be used in external projects. Exterior brick slip projects have become increasingly popular in recent times so this is definitely one to keep in mind if you are looking for inspiration. Furthermore, we’ve seen our slips used in Costa Coffee, Nando’s and Bermuda Airport! So really there is no right or wrong place to install your brickslips!

Can I Install Brickslips Myself?

Granted there are easier things to do in life, but installing brick slips is far from rocket science. If you follow our installation guide to a tee, I am confident that you will be able to install the your brickslips yourself. The key to it is the preparation and knowing your limits. It is of paramount importance that your surface is dry and clear of any debris before you begin installing. This gives your adhesive a good surface to work with and eliminates the risk of your slips falling off the wall. In terms of knowing your limits, the adhesive we supply is rapid setting. This means if you prepare too much at once, you run the risk of it setting before you even get the chance to use it to apply your brickslips to your wall. As long as you take your time with the whole process, I am sure you’ll find installing your brickslips to be a walk in the park!
